2014 has been moderately good year for Bangladesh film beside for first few months of the year, where film industry was much wounded by Political unrest in the country. However, the industry broke numerous records such as highest grossing film and the widest release. Let’s take a look at 10 most successful films of 2014.
1. AGNEE: Iftakar Chowdhury’s Agnee has been the biggest success story of 2014. The film broke every record possible including the biggest opening (12.5Mil.) and Highest grossing film (120M). The film was made with a budget of 25M and receiving overwhelming success, the makers announced it’s sequal Agnee 2 with budget over 80M, releasing in 2015.
2. HERO THE SUPERSTAR: Shakib Khan was always known as the king of the Box Office as an actor. The the actor haven’t failed to hit a jackpot with his first production venture Hero the Superstar. The film was made with a budget of 35M and ended it’s box office run with 100M.
3. KISTIMAAT: Ashiqur Rahman first directorial project was well received by the film universe. The film featured heartthrob Arifin Shuvoo and earned about 65M at the Box Office.
4. MOST WELCOME 2: Ananta Jalil’s action flick Most Welcome 2 might not be considered a success since the film’s budget was almost 90M, but the film left no stone untouched by collecting 50M from only 60 Screens. The film was also released in Japan.
5. AMI SUDHU CHEYECHI TOMAY: Ami Sudhu Cheyechi Tomay was successful at Box Office. The film, co-produced with India has succeed in picking up 44M from Bangladesh and around 25M from India.
